Jack's Bears
Jack's Bears are named after their creator - Jack Wilson, the then Chairman of the House of Nisbet. These bears were manufactured from a two-toned cream and beige fur, that was actually a crushed, pure Alpaca fabric.
5191 - Small Jack's Bear - was introduced, (along with 5190 - Big Jack's Bear), in 1986. Both bears were issued as a limited edition of 5000 bears worldwide, and were individually numbered and certificated. 5191 was priced at £29.95 on his introduction. In 1990, when Dakin purchased the House of Nisbet, he was given a new number, 85-1810. We can find no mention of him, (or his bigger brother), in any catalogues or paperwork after 1990, and must assume that this was his last year of production.
Our bear has a splendid red ribbon with white polka-dots; in the 1986 catalogue, (see below), he and his bigger brother are wearing very stylish white paisley bow-ties
