7623 Christmas Doll - 1983
This beautiful doll was the first of a series, intended to mark the Christmas season each year. Produced through the collaboration of Royal Doulton and the House of Nisbet, her finely modeled and painted head and hands were the work of the Doulton factory in Stoke-on-Trent. The cloth body the limbs were attached to, and the sumptuous costume were the work of the seamstresses of the House of Nisbet.
She is dressed in scarlet velvet, edged with clouds of white down
Issued, (as her name suggests), in 1983, this doll was one of a limited edition of 3500, and was only available during her vintage year, at £57.00.
7627 Christmas Doll 1984
The second (and unfortunately, the last) of the Christmas dolls, this doll is dressed in a pure wool dress, with a lace trimmed velvet cape
Look closely at the box she is carrying, and you will see it has the Royal Doulton logo – Inside is a card telling the owner about the doll. Whilst her box is round, (like a hat box), her sister doll has a rectangular parcel.
Like her predecessor, she was issued as a limited edition of 3500 dolls, and was only available in 1984.
