P/1042 Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt and Friend
Issued to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the future president, he is here shown holding the bear cub he refused to shoot on a specially arranged hunting trip.
The doll shown above is an unnumbered and incomplete prototype, (he has no hat or glasses) and was assembled using the standard male body moulding. As the label on the doll above suggests, the finished production model was assembled using the more portly body moulding of King Henry VIII. He also uses the crooked right arm of the Henry doll, to hold the bear cub. See further pictures below for the actual production doll.
